Preparation and Usage
Preparing your pastry: Ensure that the pastry is thoroughly defrosted before use. Thaw at room temperature for 2 1/2 hours. Alternatively, thaw overnight in your fridge then remove from fridge at least 30 minutes before use. Lightly flour both the work surface and pastry before rolling out your required thickness. Allow to stand for 5 minutes to help reduce shrinkage. Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C (200°C fan assisted)/Gas Mark 7, or at the room temperature required in your recipe.
Storage
Keep frozen at -18°C. Do not refreeze once defrosted. Once defrosted use within 24 hours.

Sumptuous sausages Ingredients 1 x 500g pack Jus-Rol Puff Pastry Block (just before using, stand the pastry at room temperature for 30 minutes.) 12 (approx 800g) good quality Cumberland sausages (or similar) 1-2 tbsp red onion marmalade 1 egg, lightly beaten 2 tbsp milk Method 1 Preheat the oven to 220°C (200°C in a fan oven)/ 425°F/ Gas Mark 7. 2 Roll the pastry out on a lightly floured surface to a rectangle about 35 x 25cm. Cut the pastry lengthways down the middle. 3 Remove the skin from the sausages and place in a bowl with the onion marmalade and mix well. Divide the sausage meat in half and place down the middle of each length of pastry. 4 Mix the yolk and milk in a small bowl with a fork and brush down one side of the pastry. Roll the pastry around the sausage meat using the egg to seal the edges. 5 Chill for 20 minutes, or at this stage they can be kept covered in the fridge for up to 2 days or placed in a sealed container and stored in the freezer for up to a month (defrost completely in the fridge before cooking). 6 Cut each piece into approximately 4 sausage rolls and place on a lightly oiled baking tray. Brush the tops with the rest of the egg mixture. 7 Bake for 25-30 mins. or until golden and cooked through. Allow to stand for 5-10 minutes before serving.
