Preparation and Usage
A tiny drop of glycerol, a vegetable based ingredient has been added to ensure this sugar stays soft and easy to use under most storage conditions. Smart Thinking: Heat a metal spoon in hot water, dry, then use to measure syrup or treacle. It will slip off the spoon more easily.

Sugar Inspiration: No:13 Gingerbread 175g Unsalted Butter 175g dark brown soft sugar 175g Golden Syrup 175g Black Treacle 350g Self-Raising Flour 3tsp Ground Ginger 50g Crystallised Ginger 300ml Whole Milk 1 Egg Melt the butter, sugar, syrup and treacle in a pan over a low heat, set aside to cool slightly. In a large bowl sift the flour and ground ginger. Finely dice the crystallised ginger then add to the flour. Pour in the melted butter mixture and stir until evenly mixed. Add the egg and milk and beat together. Line a 2lb loaf tin with baking parchment and pour in the mixture, making sure it's level. Bake in a preheated oven at 160° (fan 140°/gas mark 3) for 50 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean from the centre of the cake. Set aside to cool.
