Zip Forest Friendly Coconut Charcoal 3kg
Our Forest Friendly Coconut Charcoal is made into briquettes, our briquettes are formed by compressing coconut shell, into a pillow shape making them easy to light. The difference between our briquettes and traditional lumpwood is they take approx. 30 minutes to light and burn for over three hours, plus they are sustainable.
Forest Friendly Coconut Charcoal
We make our Zip Forest Friendly Coconut Charcoal using ethically sourced coconut shell. Coconut trees produce over 100 nuts a year and once all the water and flesh is removed by food and drink manufacturers the leftover shells are used to make eco-friendly wood alternatives, such as long burning charcoal. This means no trees are felled and no protected forests destroyed.

Preparation and Usage
Evenly distribute 2 - 3 Zip firelighters amongst your briquettes. When cooking larger quantities of food, use more briquettes & firelighters as required. Light the firelighters. Always keep the barbecue uncovered until ready to cook. Allow 20-30 minutes for the briquettes to ash and glow before cooking. Try spreading them out evenly in a single layer if you want a gentler cooking result. - Keep it clean Clean your BBQ before and after use (especially if it is kept outside). Heat the grill up prior to cooking to burn away any excess grease. - Don't rush in Light the BBQ well in advance, and wait until the charcoal is glowing red with a powdery grey surface before you start to cook (usually 20-30 minutes). The food will stick when you first place it on the grill, however it will become looser when the food has begun to cook - so give it a couple of minutes before trying to move it. - Know your tools Use the right utensils. Long-handled tools and long barbecue mitts protect you from the heat. - Keep control make sure that you pay attention at all times to the fire and the food you are cooking - and never desert your post! Food will cook best over glowing embers.
