Shortcrust Pastry You need just 225g McDougalls Plain Flour, 100g butter (diced) and a pinch of salt. Simple. For the best results make sure your butter is cold Put the butter, salt and flour into a large bowl and rub in with your fingertips until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. The flour's already been sifted for you! Add 2-3tbsp water and mix to a firm dough. Don't over mix the pastry, as this will create a tough texture. Knead the dough on a floured surface. Wrap in cling film and chill while preparing your filling.
