Rustenberg Stellenbosch John X Merriman 750ml
Sourced from hand-harvested fruit in the acclaimed stellenbosch region, this classic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot was cask matured for 20 months. Plum, dark berry and cigar box aromas prelude a multi-layered palate with elegant tannins. This wine will reward decanting before serving in its youth or patient cellaring under ideal conditions. This wine commemorates the custodian who lovingly revitalised the farm during his ownership.

Brand Marketing
The Rustenberg Estate was founded in 1682 and is nestled in the valley of the Simonsberg Mountain in South Africa’s premium wine region, Stellenbosch. Spanning 300 years since its establishment and now under current custodians, the Barlow Family, the Rustenberg team focuses on quality throughout, from the vineyards to the cellar, working with nature to produce wines of distinct character true to their terroir, variety and sense of place.
Manufacturer Marketing
This wine is named after a former owner of Rustenberg, John Xavier Merriman, who bought the farm in 1892 in sympathy with farmers suffering from the phylloxera crisis. He played a great role in revitalizing Rustenberg and in promoting the tourism and agricultural value of Ida’s Valley, the area close to the town of Stellenbosch in which Rustenberg is situated.
