Makes 1 bannock Ingredients - 350g wheaten bread mix - Generous pinch of salt - 350ml Buttermilk Wheaten bread bannock Method 1. Preheat the oven to 200°C or Gas Mark 6. In a large bowl mix the flour, salt and buttermilk to create a soft dough. 2. Turn out onto a floured baking tray and shape into a thick round, approx. 3cm deep and mark a cross along the top with a sharp knife. 3. Bake for 25 minutes until golden and turn out onto a wire rack to cool.
