Formed from a brewery in the 19th century, Glen Moray has been producing the Finest Single Malt Scotch Whisky for over 100 years in Elgin, the capital of Moray and the most northerly of the Speyside Distilleries. Being in the Laich of Moray the distillery benefits from the regions milder climate as it is afforded protection from the Cairngorm and Monadhliath Mountains. The distillery is also sitting in a hollow, below the water table, so our warehousing has the perfect conditions that allow the Angels to take more of a share of our whisky than they will of others. The marriage of our whisky and oak is something which is closely watched over the years of maturation to produce a distinctive smooth Speyside Single Malt Whisky. Using a high percentage of 1st fill ex-bourbon barrels our Master Distiller, Graham Coull, specially selects casks of varying ages to ensure the highest quality of whisky makes it into the bottle. Glen Moray has had only 5 Master Distillers in its history. This exceptional legacy along with a small but dedicated team has allowed for the skills required in crafting whisky to be finely honed. Glenn Moray is a small, friendly and authentic working distillery. A dedicated team of craftsmen has been distilling Glen Moray Single Malt since 1897. In over a century of distilling at Glen Moray, much has changed. However the ingredients, processes and skills of those responsible for producing this finest quality whisky have remained constant. My role at Glen Moray is a wide and varied one. In my role as Distillery Manager I look after the day-to-day operation of the Distillery ensuring that the spirit is produced to a very high standard of quality and consistency. As Master Distiller I ensure that the whisky selected for the Glen Moray product range has been matured for the optimum length of times in the finest quality casks.
