Recipes

Macaroni cheese Serves 4 Ingredients 250g macaroni 40g butter or margarine 40g plain flour 500ml milk 150g mature Cheddar cheese 25g breadcrumbs Method 1. Cook the pasta as per pack instructions and drain. 2. Melt the butter in a saucepan, stir in flour and cook for 2-3 minutes, gradually stir in the milk, bring to the boil and stir continuously, until the sauce thickens, add Cheddar cheese (reserve some for the top) and season to taste. 3. Pour the sauce into the drained pasta and mix well and spoon into an ovenproof dish, sprinkle with remaining Cheddar cheese and top with breadcrumbs. 4. Grill until golden and bubbling.
