Butterscotch Sauce 75g (3oz) Co-op butter 100g (4oz) Co-op soft brown sugar 75g (3oz) Co-op granulated sugar 450g (1lb) Co-op golden syrup 150ml (1/4 pt.) Co-op double cream Few drops Co-op vanilla essence 1. Place the butter, sugars and syrup into a thick bottomed saucepan. Place over a gentle heat and when formed into a liquid, stir slowly and continually for about 10 minutes. 2. Remove from the heat. After a few minutes, stir in the double cream gradually, along with a few drops of vanilla essence. Stir for another 3-5 minutes for a smooth sauce. 3. Use straight away or store in an airtight jar.
