Recipes

Recipe for Gulab Jamun Ingredients: 2 cups (approx. 550g) East End's Milk Powder, 1/2 cup (approx. 140g) Self Raising Flour, 1 tbsp East End's Semolina (Coarse), 1 tbsp Sugar, 1/2 tpsn East End's Ground Cardamoms, 3/4 pint of slightly warm Milk. Sieve the above dry ingredients and by slowly adding the milk, kneed into a soft dough. By applying small amounts of milk onto your palms make into small round 1 inch balls. Immediately deep fry on very slow heat (to ensure that they are fully cooked from inside) until golden brown. Leave to cool while you make the syrup using the following ingredients: 2 cups (approx. 500g) Sugar, 3 cups (1 1/2 pints) cold water, Few drops of Rose Flavour. Put the above in a large saucepan and allow to boil continuously for 15 minutes. Then, add the, now cooled, Gulab Jamun. Boil for 2 to 3 minutes and remove from heat.
