Hungarian Goulash 2 lb beef chunks, 1 tbsp shortening, 2 cups finely chopped onion, 1 1/2 lb Sauerkraut, 1 cup canned tomatoes, 1 tbsp Natco Paprika, 1 tsp caraway seeds, 1/4 tsp Natco Chilli Powder, 1/2 cup chopped green peppers, 1 cup sour cream, Salt to taste. Method: Cut beef into 1 inch cubes. Melt shortening in pot and brown meat on all sides. Add onions and sauté until golden brown. Add sauerkraut, tomatoes, 1/2 cup of water, paprika, caraway seeds, chilli powder and salt. Cover and cook over low heat for about an hour. Add green peppers. Cook until tender - about ten minutes. Gradually add sour cream, stirring so it will not curdle. Serve with noodles or rice. Serves four.
