Preparation and Usage
Preparation Guidelines Wash in cold water. Top and tail each parsnip by cutting a small section from both ends. Thinly peel or scrape off the skin and leave whole if small enough. Alternatively, if large, cut out the core and slice into thick strips or chunks. Advice Always wash work surfaces, cutting boards, utensils and hands before and after preparing food and after disposal of packaging. Wash fruit and vegetables before use. Top Tip Parsnips are perfect steamed, boiled or roasted. Mash spare parsnips with cooked carrots for a colourful side dish, or toss parsnip wedges in olive oil and a little curry paste, roast and serve with mango chutney and raita.
Storage
Store in the fridge at 2 - 5°C to keep fresh for many days longer. If it still looks good enough to eat, it is!
