Further Description

The land known as "les Combes d'Arnevel" in Cháteauneuf du Pape is the sole properly of the Quiot family, which, a century and a half ago, built a hunting lodge on the hillside, amidst vines and oat trees. The soil is formed from sharp, white "lauzes" that are extremely difficult to work. These stones force the roots to burrow down several meters to find the nourishment they need. The soil is as white as snow and something of a curiosity. The vineyards are planted with Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault to give this wine a fine complexity.
